The Chorus is an award winning choir with a passionate commitment to camaraderie through music. Our members challenge stereotypes, stand as proud role models for those struggling with their sexuality or identity, and come from all backgrounds, ages and levels of ability. Our individual diversity is our collective strength. We strive for musical excellence and offer a supportive environment for enjoyable learning and performance and welcome all who share our vision and love of music.
Since its inception in 1990, the Melbourne Gay & Lesbian Chorus committed itself to supporting the GLBTI community of Melbourne.
As such, the Chorus has performed at the Stonewall commemorative service each year for the Metropolitan Community Church (MCC), World AIDS Day ceremonies and services for the People Living With AIDS (PLWHA), and the fundraising Australia Day Picnic for GLBTI radio station, JOY Melbourne (94.9 FM), to name a few.
We are an inclusive body and welcome members from the wider GLBTI community with a range of musical abilities and experience.
